According to reports, it has been disclosed by The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) that it seized 42 oil tankers used in diverting petroleum products to the black market and destroyed eight illegal refineries in three states .
in Minna on Thursday , Alhaji Abdulahi Gana,The Commandant General of the Corps, told newsmen in his country home that the operation was carried out between July and September.
The commandant general expressed dismay that the Federal Government was losing much more oil revenue to the operations of oil thieves than it was receiving.
Its really a sad thing as it affects each and every citizen of Nigeria.
He told newsmen that 40,000 of its personnel were deployed by the corp to strategic locations across the country to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration.

According to my sources, He said that to ensure that the country's development efforts remained on course, the corps would continue to safeguard the country’s critical infrastructure and national assets.

Gana said that ensuring the security of the country was everybody’s business and should not be left to the government alone.
What Gana said is right and is to be considered by every Nigerian citizen who is interested in the wellbeing of his/her country.
