two boats collide in Lagos, killing a 6-year-old boy

  Isaiah Bamidele, A six-year-old boy,has been confirmed dead after two boats collided in Odo-Isitu, Egan, Lagos State.
Report says the boats, had 17 occupants each and were moving in opposite directions.


But the ogun state boat lost control and crashed into the Lagos boat. according to reports, the ogun state boat was on top speed.
All the passengers were said to have fallen into the water as expected, before local divers ,in response to an emergency call, arrived the scene.




Ibrahim Farinloye,The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South-West zone, while confirming the incident, said local divers rescued the other victims and that Bamidele was the only passenger that died.
He said, “The boy was recovered dead by local divers. The two boats collided at Odo-Isitu in Egan. The boat, which was coming from Totowu in Ogun State, lost control and collided with another that took off from Egan in Lagos State.
“The two boats were carrying 17 passengers each. The incident happened around 1.20 pm on Sunday.”





According to him,  Bamidele had since been buried by his family.
This is for those that have refused bluntly to learn how to swim. In situations like this, those that do not know how to swim are always the first to die, if not the only ones to die.
Nigeria does not need such grief and so I urge us to try our best to learn how to swim, you never can tell when it would be needed. After all, on earth water is much more bigger than land.
Its better to learn from other people's experiences than to experience it yourself.
