Thursday,A nine-year-old girl,was crushed to death at Afor –Nkpo- New Tarzan axis, near Onitsha, Anambra State by a liquor haulage van.
24 other people were also seriously injured from the incident .
the 9-year-old girl was said to be returning from an errand when the vehicle hit her, according to my sources.
I can't imagine the pain her parents would pass through after finding out that their daughter who they sent to buy something has been crushed by a lorry.
Her remains had since been deposited at Eyi Enu Hospital Mortuary, Ogidi.
Eyewitness said that the lorry's breaks were faulty and that the driver tried to alert people by shouting from afar that his breaks were faulty, only for the vehicle to crash into a spot where people were gathered, killing the small girl and seriously injuring people.
The eyewitness said, “The driver could not control the situation and he immediately jumped out alongside the conductor.
“The lorry hit one L300; smashed the little girl and rammed into a hair-dressing saloon.”
The owner of the hair dressing saloon managed to run away, leaving her five-year-old child behind while The lorry trapped an aged man under its tyre.
The lorry, with number plate XA424-AAH (Anambra) had full load of lager beer beverage at the time of the accident.
Accidents everywhere, too bad. This situation is not funny but its funny that a woman left her 5year old daughter and ran.
