lagos mechanic village on fire and 20 vehicle were destroyed

On Friday,  in the Alausa area of Lagos ,There was serious concern   and tension  as fire razed the mechanic village on Ashabi Cole Street in the Central Business District.
According to my sources , an eyewitness said that over 20 vehicles were damaged by the flames.

Luckily , the fire did not result to any death . According to reports, the fire started around 2:30am and lasted for several hours. Several other goods were burnt , including generators and motor batteries, an eyewitness confirmed.

Others affected were  a confectionery shop and a computer services shop . The Tisco building was also affected by the fire, the Tisco shares boundary with the mechanic shop and that was why it was affected. According to reports, it lost printing machines, desktop computers, air conditioners , souvenirs and other items to the flames.  That is not a small loss.

According to punch, owner of a burnt vehicle, who identified himself as Tony, regretted leaving his Honda legend saloon car with the mechanic overnight. according to him, his car had a minor ignition problem when he gave it to the mechanic.
His words, “I asked my mechanic to pick the car in my house on Thursday morning and I thought he would finish it, but when I called him in the evening, he said he would finish it first thing on Friday morning, so I left the car with him. But the incident happened overnight.
“My wife was supposed to use the vehicle to take the children to school on Friday but because it was with the mechanic we had to look for an alternative.”
At least, we thank God that there wasn't any loss of life.
But what must have caused the flames? [leave comment below ]
